SNSC secretary meets Iraqi PM al-Maliki

Baghdad, July 18, IRNA – Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani who arrived in Baghdad around noon time, Friday, met and conferred with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Shamkhani in the meeting congratulated the Iraqi nation and government for their eye catching, rapid and incessant victories in their campaign against the Takfiri terrorists.
Prime Minister al-Maliki, too, in the meeting appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran?s spiritual support and generous offer of dispatching any type of assistance that Iraq might deem a necessary in that campaign.

He said that the establishment of the new Iraqi Parliament and the election of the new Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri were important and effective steps towards the country?s political development and participation of various political factions in the country?s ongoing crisis management.

Maliki meanwhile thanked God for the shared stands of the two neighboring countries? governments and nations on the need for restoration of peace, stability, and security in Iraq.
