TEHRAN (FNA)- South Korea's crude imports from Iran reached 604,402 tons in June, which is more than double in month-on-month scale, the country's customs data said.


Customs data showed on Tuesday that Seoul’s crude imports from Iran stood at 604, 402 tons or 147,676 barrels per day (bpd) in June, up from 284,327 tons the month before, Reuters reported.

The amount also indicated a 7-percent rise in Seoul’s oil imports from Iran in comparison to June 2013, which was 565,444 tons, the report said.

Also, In the first two months of the year, South Korea imported 173,744 bpd, up 2.3 percent from a year ago, and a surge of 30 percent from the 134,000 bpd that Seoul took from Iran in 2013.

According to Korea National Oil Corp (KNOC), Iran is the fifth largest crude oil supplier to South Korea after Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE and Qatar.
