Iran condemns Israel's crimes against Palestinians

4 Jul 2014 - 22:18

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham strongly condemned Israel's crimes in the Palestinian territories.
Several Palestinians have been killed in new Israeli raids in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip.

"We strongly condemn the continuation of the savage aggressions by the Zionist regime against the Palestinians in the Gaza trip and the West Bank which resulted in bloodshed and death of defenseless people in these regions," Afkham said.

Over 300 Palestinians, including Hamas members and lawmakers, have been detained in recent days.

Israel began sending troop reinforcements to its border with the Gaza Strip amid heightened tensions with the Palestinians.

The Israeli military targeted 15 sites in Gaza that they said belonged to Hamas.

"The escalation in the Gaza strip is aimed at spreading confusion and increasing the number of murders, the destruction and the bloodshed. It’s an attempt to draw away the attention of the Palestinian people from the Israeli colonization of Jerusalem," a Hamas spokesman said.
