Photos: Nowruz shopping in Tehran

18 Mar 2014 - 18:33

As Nowruz is on its way to Iran, the people are getting ready to hold parties and celebrating the arrival of new Persian year .
Iranians are shopping Norooz items for 7Seen-reads Haft-Seen in Persian- which stands for seven “S” as the first letter of items used to set a traditional table for Norooz.  Sabzeh (Greens) and Flowers are essential symbols of the spring decorating Iranian homes.

On the New Year’s Day, families dress in their new clothes and start the twelve-day celebrations by visiting the elders of their family, then the rest of their family and finally their friends, which are usually reciprocated. They serve fruits, nuts, and cookies to host their guests at home and that’s why Iranians are quite busy shopping stuff these days.
