TEHRAN (Tasnim) An Austrian political analyst said the second letter penned by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei to Western youth is aimed at raising awareness about hypocrisy in the West.
he (the Leader) mentions the hypocrisy of the West (and international institutions led by the West) with regard to the politics of Israel and he asks the youth to end this behavior and condemn terror and oppression wherever they occur, Wibren Visser of Linz told Tasnim in an interview.
Following is the full text of the interview.
Q: Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has penned a new letter to young people in the West. What's your view of the message?
A: In his letter Ayatollah Khamenei points at two major differences in the character and extension of terror felt by the people in the West and in Muslim countries. He explains that Muslims have been victims of terror for much longer time and to a far greater extent than people in the West. Apart from that he mentions the hypocrisy of the West (and international institutions led by the West) with regard to the politics of Israel and he asks the youth to end this behavior and condemn terror and oppression wherever they occur.
Q: What are the real reasons behind the rise of ISIL (Daesh)?
A: Ayatollah Khamenei seems to connect Daesh with a violent and aggressive Western culture. I am convinced that most of the terrorist groups like al-Qaeda and Daesh were founded and nurtured by the military and intelligence community of Western countries. They serve as a pretext for continuous wars worldwide and loss of liberties in all countries. These wars serve the interests of big business and, interwoven with an endless string of artificial crises, they are meant to keep people insecure and keep any attempt for a real free society at bay.
Q: There have been official reports confirming US role in funding and arming the terrorist groups operating in the Middle East. How do see Washington's role in backing terrorism?
A: All these groups are part of a strategy of the US and its allies to stir up wars in any region of the world at any chosen time. In the past these groups have been armed and financed by the alliance of the US, partly openly and party covertly.
I just read The Samson Option by Seymore Hersh which made me aware of the fact that the US for over 30 years has looked the other way while Israel did everything to get nuclear weapons. The current situation very much reminds me of the descriptions in 1984 by George Orwell.
